Uncertain. Ultimately onomatopoeic.
From fryga + -ać, with a semantic shift of to set a dreidel into motion to to fling (quickly), and finally to eat quickly.
Ultimately from fr (“about a sound when taking off to flight”), with fryga being derived from frygać.
