=== Etymology ===
From Old Swedish flere, flæster, from Old Norse fleiri, from Proto-Germanic *flaizô, derived from Proto-Indo-European *pleh₁- (“full, many”). Cognate, among others, with Icelandic fleiri, flestr, Latin plūs and Ancient Greek πλέως (pléōs), πλεῖστος (pleîstos).
=== Pronunciation ===
IPA(key): /fleːr/
=== Adjective ===
fler or flera (plural only, superlative flest or flesta)
more and most (in numbers)
==== Usage notes ====
Many native Swedish speakers would consider this to be a comparative of mången, månget, många (“many”), which however is a pronoun and not an adjective.
