However, the resulting expression is treated as an indeclinable adjective and remains as such in all grammatical cases, with any associated noun assuming the case required by the syntactic context. Multiples of þúsund (“thousand”) work the same way, but higher numerals are treated as nouns and govern an associated noun in the genitive plural.
