== Hungarian == === Etymology === From fehér (“white”) +‎ -je (“…’s, of…; its”, possessive suffix). The word in the second sense (“protein”) is the result of an ellipsis of tojásfehérje (“white [part] of [an/the] egg”) and a subsequent lexicalization; see also sárgája.
