endogenous erythroid colony (plural endogenous erythroid colonies)
(hematology) A diagnostic laboratory finding where erythroid progenitor cells from a patient’s bone marrow or peripheral blood grow into colonies in vitro without the addition of exogenous erythropoietin, used as a marker of abnormal stem cell behavior.
