diell

== Albanian ==
=== Alternative forms ===
djel — Meyer
dill — Gheg
=== Etymology ===
Disputed. Possibilities include:
From Proto-Albanian *delwa, from Proto-Indo-European *ǵʰelh₃u̯o-, from the root *ǵʰelh₃- (“gleam, yellow”), a tabooistic substitute for the original *sóh₂wl̥. Cognate with Lithuanian žel̃vas, Latin helvus, Sanskrit हरि (hari).
From Proto-Indo-European *sh₂wélyos (“sun”), from the oblique stem of *sóh₂wl̥. For the development of the initial compare djersë (“sweat”) from *sweyd-, and dergjem (“waste away, be bedridden”), from mediopassive Proto-Indo-European *sworgʰéyeti, from *swergʰ- (“watch over, worry”).
