== Hungarian == === Etymology === Uncertain. Possibly from an otherwise unattested onomatopoeic stem + -p (obsolete instantaneous suffix) + -ít (verb-forming suffix). The same stem is found in csillapodik (“to calm down, diminish”) and csillapul (“to calm down”).
