== Albanian == === Alternative forms === cap, sqap, cqap, cabe, sjap, skjap, cujap, thjap, cijap === Etymology === Vast majority of linguist are split between two main etymologies, either from an Indoeuropean-Mediterranean source, the same source as Romanian țap, Italian zappo, Proto-Germanic *skēpą, Old Ruthenian цапъ (cap), proposed by Meyer-Lübke, or from a paleo-Balkan stratum, related to the herding calls made to the goats, i.e. cap-cap in Albanian, τσάπ-τσάπ in modern Greek, etc., proposed by Rohlfs. Wide spread word with many variants.
