== Albanian == === Etymology === Word present in southern Tosk. Jokl and Pokorny connect it with ther and its family, with the usual th:c transformation in Albanian. Camarda brings the version ciris and çiris (to scratch) and puts them close to Greek ξυρίζω (xyrízo, “to shave”).
