=== Alternative forms ===
siliqoke, siliqokë, cillkokë, cilikokë, sylikokë, silikokë, sylëkokë, sorrëqokë, sulkokë, syqokë
=== Etymology ===
From ciri- (or its variant cili- for some alternative forms) + kokë, where the first part is derived from cër as a metathesis of stër- in stërqokë, or even from cirkë (“droplet”). The second part points to qok (“scops owl”), influenced by kokë perhaps due to the grayish color on birds head and neck.
Less likely, but proposed, an onomatopoeic formation due to the bird's caw, krrok in Albanian.
