== Albanian == === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈbɾuʃtuɫ/ === Etymology 1 === From Proto-Albanian *brustula, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰrust- (compare Old Saxon brustian (“to sprout”), Russian брость (brostʹ, “buds (of a shrub)”), from the root *bʰrews- (“to swell, grow”). Topalli has argued for a borrowing from Serbo-Croatian bljušt, although this seems unlikely on phonetic grounds. Compare also Romanian brusture (“burdock”). ==== Alternative forms ==== brushtullë, bruzhdull ==== Noun ==== brushtull f (plural brushtulla, definite brushtulla, definite plural brushtullat) (botany) ivy (Hedera helix) ===== Synonyms ===== urth ==== References ==== === Etymology 2 === From Venetan brustola; cf. Greek μπρούστουλα (broústoula). ==== Noun ==== brushtull m (plural brushtuj, definite brushtulli, definite plural brushtujt) heavily beaten sweet pastry made with wheat flour and butter turnover made of cornflour and filled with vegetables ===== Declension =====
