التعريفات والمعاني

== French == === Etymology === Inherited from Middle French bouger, from Old French bougier, from Vulgar Latin *bullicāre (“to bubble; seethe; move; stir”) a frequentative based on bullīre (“to boil; seethe; roil”). Borrowed from Middle French into English as budge (“move”). Related to English boil. Compare Catalan bellugar. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /bu.ʒe/ Homophones: bougeai, bougé, bougée, bougées, bougés, bougez === Verb === bouger to move to budge ==== Conjugation ==== This is a regular -er verb, but the stem is written bouge- before endings that begin with -a- or -o- (to indicate that the -g- is a "soft" /ʒ/ and not a "hard" /ɡ/). This spelling change occurs in all verbs in -ger, such as neiger and manger. === Further reading === “bouger”, in Trésor de la langue française informatisé [Digitized Treasury of the French Language], 2012 === Anagrams === bougre
