== English == === Alternative forms === blast-furnace gas === Noun === blast furnace gas (uncountable) A gaseous, low calorific value by-product of blast furnaces generated when the iron ore is reduced with coke to metallic iron; commonly used as fuel within the steel works in which the gas is generated.
