Out of the two possessive forms, the j-less forms beszéde and beszédük are preferred in the uncountable sense “the faculty of uttering articulate sounds or words; the ability to speak or to use vocalizations to communicate”. On the other hand, the form beszédje (and beszédjük) may refer to someone’s style of speaking or a long oral message given publicly by a person, together with the j-less forms.
