beeds

التعريفات والمعاني

== Central Franconian == === Alternative forms === beids (Kölsch) beed, bääd, baad (Moselle Franconian) === Etymology === From Old High German beide + -s. The latter is probably an adverbial ending (cf. the postpositioned use, which is similar to an adverb). === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /beːts/ === Pronoun === beeds pl (attributive beedse) both ==== Usage notes ==== The nominal form is only used postpositioned (example 1). It is often intensified to allebeeds. The attributive form cannot take an article or determiner before it (as in English, but unlike Standard German). The German form beide or the hybrid beede are also heard for it, but this is a recent corruption.
