An origin from Proto-Albanian *baskā, from Proto-Indo-European *bʰask- (“bundle”), is unlikely as the PIE *-sk- cluster would lead to Albanian -h-, not -shk- (*-sk- > *-hk- > *-kh- > *-kʰ- > -h-).
