== Vietnamese == === Etymology === Sino-Vietnamese word from 部長, composed of 部 (“ministry”) and 長 (“chief”), from Chinese 部長 / 部长 (bùzhǎng). The use of Literary Chinese 部 (bù) for modern ministries are unique to China, Vietnam and South Korea, but only the former two use Chinese 部長 / 部长 (bùzhǎng), while South Korea uses a more etymologically generic term, 장관 (janggwan, literally “chief official”). Japanese 部長 (buchō, “division chief; club president”) and Korean 부장 (bujang, “division chief”) make use of other senses of Literary Chinese 部 (bù). === Pronunciation === (Hà Nội) IPA(key): [ʔɓo˧˨ʔ t͡ɕɨəŋ˧˩] (Huế) IPA(key): [ʔɓow˨˩ʔ ʈɨəŋ˧˨] (Saigon) IPA(key): [ʔɓow˨˩˨ ʈɨəŋ˨˩˦] === Noun === (classifier vị) bộ trưởng (government) a minister or secretary (head of a department of government) Bộ trưởng Bộ Giáo dục và Đào tạo ― the Minister of Education and Training === See also === thứ trưởng thủ tướng quốc vụ khanh
