autoestrada
التعريفات والمعاني
== Galician ==
=== Etymology ===
From auto- + estrada.
=== Noun ===
autoestrada f (plural autoestradas)
motorway (Britain, Ireland, New Zealand), freeway (Australia, Canada, US), highway (parts of the US), expressway (parts of Canada, parts of the US), controlled-access highway
==== Usage notes ====
In Spain, the autovías never have a toll, and the autoestradas usually have a toll. The autovías are of poorer quality than the autoestradas. The autovías have sharper/tighter curves and steeper slopes. Access and exit lanes are often shorter and do not meet the minimum length required on autoestradas. It is even possible to find bus stops on the autovía itself.
