appresentation

التعريفات والمعاني

== English == === Etymology === From German Appräsentation, coined by Edmund Husserl from appräsentieren, from Latin ad- + praesentatio. === Noun === appresentation (uncountable) (philosophy) The intentional feature by which something indirectly given to consciousness is experienced as co-present or implied alongside what is directly perceived. ==== Usage notes ==== In Husserl's phenomenology, appresentation is distinguished from presentation (direct givenness). It is most famously used to explain the experience of other minds: another person's body is directly presented, but their consciousness is appresented. The concept was later extended by Alfred Schütz to include signs, symbols, and indications. ==== Antonyms ==== presentation ==== Related terms ==== appresent ==== Translations ====
