== Portuguese == === Alternative forms === amigo-da-onça (pre-1990 spelling) === Etymology === After O Amigo da Onça (literally, “the jaguar’s friend”), a Brazilian comic character created in 1943 by Péricles de Andrade Maranhão. In the comic, this character was sarcastic and frequently took advantage of other characters and put them on the spot.
