== Turkish == === Etymology === Attested dialectally as a noun in the Aintab region, meaning “an animal trained for a cart or load by being used in turns”.. Based on that sense, almaşıklı was suggested as an Öztürkçe substitution for münavebeten (“alternately; by turns”) by the Turkish Language Association in 1934, whereas almaşık was suggested as a substitution for mütenavip (“alternate; alternating”) in 1942.
