== English == === Etymology === From Ancient Greek ἀλήθεια (alḗtheia, “truth”) +‎ -scope, equivalent to aletho- +‎ -scope. === Noun === alethoscope (plural alethoscopes) (historical) An instrument, invented in the 1860s, for viewing magnified pictures by means of a single lens inside a box.
