== Hungarian == === Etymology === From the obsolete verb aggik (“to care about something”) + -ódik (reflexive or passive verb-forming suffix), where the verb is of disputed origin: either from Proto-Finno-Ugric *aŋke (“tight, depressed, distress, become tight”), or with a semantic blend and split related to agg (“very old”). A connection with Proto-Finno-Ugric *šoŋkɜ (“squeeze; narrow”) is considered unlikely. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): [ˈɒɡːoːdik] Hyphenation: ag‧gó‧dik Rhymes: -oːdik === Verb === aggódik (intransitive) to worry about something, to be anxious about something or for somebody (-ért) Synonym: aggodalmaskodik Aggódom a fiamért. ― I am worried about my son. ==== Conjugation ==== ==== Derived terms ==== ==== Related terms ==== === References === === Further reading === aggódik in Géza Bárczi, László Országh, et al., editors, A magyar nyelv értelmező szótára [The Explanatory Dictionary of the Hungarian Language] (ÉrtSz.), Budapest: Akadémiai Kiadó, 1959–1962.
