== Tashelhit == === Etymology === Inherited from Proto-Berber. Compare Tarifit abeǧaɛ (“mud”) and Kabyle abellaɛ (“puddle”). Synchronically, perhaps a verbal noun of an unattested verb of the form *bbullɣ (cf. bbuǧeɛ), possibly from bb- +‎ allaɣ (“bottom, mud”).
