(Goeree-Overflakkee) Attested as De Zuidzyde around 1750. Derived from zuidzijde (“southside”). Located to the south of a prominent levee. See also Zealandic Sesieje.
(Bodegraven-Reeuwijk) Attested as zuytzijde van Bodegraven in 1509. Derived from zuidzijde (“southside”). Named after a polder. The toponym contrasts with Noordzijde.
(Hoeksche Waard) Attested as Zuidzijde in 1866. Derived from zuidzijde (“southside”). Originally the name of a country house.
