Borrowed from Hindi टुकड़े टुकड़े गैंग (ṭukṛe ṭukṛe gaiṅg), from Hindi टुकड़ा (ṭukṛā, “fragment”). Coined by the journalist Sudhir Chaudhary, later popularized after an alleged video of students at Jawaharlal Nehru University calling for India to be divided during a protest.
