== Latin == === Etymology === Uncertain: Possibly related to the Illyrian tribe name Taulantii The first element *tol could be related to Tolosa (modern French Toulouse), Toletum, or the river Tolerus, or from a derivative of Proto-Indo-European *delh₁- (“to split”), showing the typical d > t shift found in North Picene stratum of the area.
