Sverka
التعريفات والمعاني
== Norwegian Bokmål ==
=== Etymology ===
Ultimately unknown. Peter Andreas Munch connected the name with a reconstructed Norwegian verb *svirka, corresponding to Proto-Germanic *swerkaną (“to become dark”), reflected in Old English sweorcan (“to become dark, be obscured”). If this explanation is correct, the river name would have meant approximately “the dark one”.
Compare the Norwegian river names Svarka, Svorka and Surka, which Oluf Rygh assigns to the same stem.
=== Pronunciation ===

Rhymes: -ærka
Hyphenation: Sver‧ka
