Sruighlea
التعريفات والمعاني
== Scottish Gaelic ==
=== Etymology ===
Originally likely from Old Irish sreb, srib (“stream”) + linn (“pool, lake”), borrowed into Middle Scots Stirveling, via Early Scots Strivelin, Strivelyn, and then reborrowed into early Scottish Gaelic. The ending is perhaps due to a reanalysis of the -ing ending as indicating a verbal noun, resulting in Gaelic -ea(dh).
