Borrowed from Latin sānctificētur (“may it be consecrated”), 3rd-person singular present passive subjunctive of sānctificō, referring to the passage sanctificetur nomen tuum in the Latin version of the Lord's prayer. In this case, probably a nickname for a foundling.
