Pyhäjärvi
التعريفات والمعاني
== Finnish ==
=== Etymology ===
pyhä (“sacred”) + järvi (“lake”). The surname is from place names. All three municipalities were named after nearby lakes, Pyhäjärvi being a common name for lakes in Finland (given e.g. to lakes by pagan places or worship or sacrifice; at least in some cases it is also possible that pyhä was used as a labialized variant of piha in the sense “fenced enclosure” and given to lakes located near borders, although note that SSA considers that sense of pyhä to be of the same origin as pyhä (“holy, sacred”)).
