Pindorama

== Portuguese ==
=== Etymology ===
First attested in 1897 in a text by Couto de Magalhães, and later repopularized by Oswald de Andrade in 1928, in the Anthropophagic Manifesto. Magalhães claims this is the Tupian endonym for Brazil used in 1500, meaning "land of the palm trees", but presents no contemporary sources to his claim. If true, it's a misconstruction, as the proper form would be either Pindobetama or Pindoba retama.
The other toponyms were named in reference to it.
