== Finnish == === Etymology === pihlaja (“rowan”) +‎ mäki (“hill”). The surname is mostly from place names, but also adopted as a Fennicized surname. The name of the place in Helsinki was coined by Finnish professor Reino Castrén in the late 1950s and was inspired by the surname Rönnkulla (Swedish rönn + kulla (kulle)) of one of the (few) residents of the area before the construction of the suburb in the 1960s.
