Pickert

التعريفات والمعاني

== German == === Etymology === Probably from Low German Pick, Piäk (“pitch”) +‎ -ert (noun-forming suffix). Compare Westphalian picken, piäken (“to stick”), northern German pekig (“covered in sticky dirt”). It is conspicuous that the vowel of Pickert, unlike that of the aforementioned words, is short in all dialects. However, this may be due to the shortening effect that following -er- commonly has in Low German. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈpɪkɐt/ === Noun === Pickert m (strong, genitive Pickerts, plural Pickerte) (Westphalia, chiefly northeastern parts) potato pancake ==== Declension ==== === References === === Further reading === “Pickert”, in Digitales Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache‎[1] (in German) “Pickert” in Uni Leipzig: Wortschatz-Lexikon == Luxembourgish == === Etymology === Of Yenish origin. === Noun === Pickert m (plural Pickerten) penis
