(obsolete) A taxonomic order within the class Reptilia – snakes or serpents, with no forelimbs and minimal manifestation of rear limbs, now Serpentes.
A taxonomic clade within the subclass Squamata – modern snakes and all reptiles more closely related to snakes than to other living groups of lizards.
