Please add to it, or discuss it at the Etymology scriptorium.) === Proper noun === the North China Plain A large alluvial plain of northern China, bordered to the north by the Yanshan Mountains, to the west by the Taihang Mountains and Funiu Mountains, to the southwest by the Dabie Mountains and Tongbai Mountains, and to the east by the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, and merging with the Jianghuai Plains to the south.
