=== Etymology ===
Attested as Heveadorp in 1936. Compound of Latin Hevea (“plant family including the rubber tree”) and dorp (“village, settlement”). Named after the Hevea rubber factory near Hoogezand. The owners of the factory bought a dairy plant near Doorwerth in 1915 and built the village to provide accommodation for employees. Similar names are Agodorp, Batadorp and Philipsdorp.
