== German == === Etymology === Early 19th century, from Austro-Bavarian and Bohemian dialects, of uncertain further origin. The two main theories are: From a metathesis of Latin armillaria with the ending influenced by the Czech nominal suffix -ař. From Bavarian hal im Oasch (literally “smooth in the arse”), from hal, from Middle High German hæle (“smooth, slippery”), referring to the mushroom’s laxative effect.
