From the geese that once nested on the riverside next to Victoriatown, where geese hunting once was permitted. === Proper noun === Goose Village (historical, informal) A neighbourhood of Quebec. A former area in Montreal, that has since been demolished to make way for an industrial area, freeway, World's Fair and Olympics infrastructure.
