Castert

التعريفات والمعاني

== Dutch == === Etymology === First attested as castert wert in 1294. Likely derived from Middle Dutch *caster (“type of tree, potentially chestnut”) with collectivising suffix -t. As no traces of Roman settlement have been found near the hamlet, a link to Latin castra (“encampment”) is unlikely. Compare Castelré, Castenray, Casteren and Kasteren. === Pronunciation === IPA(key): /ˈkɑs.tərt/ Hyphenation: Cas‧tert Rhymes: -ɑstərt === Proper noun === Castert n a hamlet in Leudal, Limburg, Netherlands === References === van Berkel, Gerard; Samplonius, Kees (2018), Nederlandse plaatsnamen verklaard (in Dutch), Mijnbestseller.nl, →ISBN
