=== Proper noun ===
Beere
A surname.

=== Etymology ===
From Middle High German ber, bere n (sometimes f), from Old High German beri n, from Proto-Germanic *bazją n. Cognate with English berry and eventually Dutch bes.
Chiefly in Upper German, the final vowel was lost through early apocope after short vowel + single sonorant. The -e was maintained in the north, however, where it led to a shift to the feminine gender (compare Middle Low German bēre f), facilitated by the predominant use in the plural.
