== Turkish == === Etymology === Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اورومك (ürümek), from Old Anatolian Turkish اورمك (ürmek, üremek), from Proto-Turkic *ür- (“to blow”). According to Nişanyan, final "ü" in ürü- in Turkish is a later development and not well understood. The original ür- and the earlier variant üre- can still be found in various dialects. Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (ǖr-, “to blow, bark”), Kyrgyz үрүү (ürüü, “to blow, bark”), Uzbek hurmoq (“to bark”), Khakas ӱрерғе (ürerğe, “to blow”), Kazakh үру (üru, “to blow, bark”), Gagauz üürümää, Azerbaijani hürmək === Pronunciation === Hyphenation: ü‧rü‧mek === Verb === ürümek (third-person singular simple present ürür) (intransitive) to bark, howl İt ürür kervan yürür. ― The dogs bark, but the caravan goes on.
