From Ottoman Turkish چیقنتی (çıḳıntı, “anything projected, or risen from something, a projection”) (alternatively چیقندی (çıḳındı) or چیقیندی (çıḳındı)), from Ottoman Turkish چیقمق (çıḳmaḳ, “to come or go out, to get out of, to come up or go up, to ascend”), from Proto-Turkic *čïk- (“to come out”), morphologically çık- + -ın + -tı.
